3ds Max Error Allocating Mesh

The problem is when I take the same file home and try to render it, I am getting the above error. You are still stuck with the 2gb limit of Physical + Virtual. (Unless applying the 3gb switch.)Max does not use swap space the same as Photoshop. All rights reserved. There could be something corrupt with that piece of geometry that is throwing the error. You just need to optimize your model and change all your triangle poly's back into quad's. I have like 300,000 faces?!

Anyone has received this error before? When you Import an Autocad model into Max, each quad poly face is split in half, so a 150,000 poly model in Autocad will become a 300,000 poly model in Max. yay!

CGTalk > Software > Autodesk 3ds max > Memory Error While Rendering Though I Have Lots of Memory PDA View in post #2 you said it there error was not about "one specific mesh." Did you do anything to see if "XXX" itself was the problem? Using 3ds Max 2011 Join Date Feb 2006 Location Southern California Posts 9,867 It sounds like you're just suffering from a bloated file.

I suspect my problem is that I imported an autocad drawing, made from a combination of 3d shapes, extruded polylines, and 3d blocks. So, cross fingers, just have to finalize some positions of lights, and then I will get it. Also try and keep all of your polygons as quads. not solved :S Last edited by RafBR; 01-21-12 at 09:56 AM.

My computer has an enormous amount of memory. This is a very time consuming process and I haven't found a quick or easy way to do it. Although im having another problem.

On the subject of material balls, 3ds Max can slow down when you have more than 40 materials in the Multi/Sub. What I have tryed: 1- I am using 3ds max 2010 - installed sp1 2- I did switch betwen rF1 and rF2 plugins - error remains 3- The error happens when Reply With Quote 01-20-12,01:31 PM #6 freew67 View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries Visit Homepage View Articles Location USA OSWindows 7 64bit MainboardBlack CPUI7 950 RAM12 gb ddr3
