If you own an MacBook Air, and it requires service for any other issue, you still have access to all available service options, but you will be responsible for the cost of service, including parts, labor, shipping (if any), and applicable taxes. AppleCare or your local AASP or Apple retail store representative will provide you with an estimate of service costs before receiving your authorization to perform service.
On July 20, 2011, Apple released updates to the 11.6" and 13.3" models of the MacBook Air, which also became Apple's entry-level laptops due to lowered prices and the discontinuation of the white MacBook around the same time. The mid-2011 MacBook Airs were powered by the new Sandy Bridge 1.6 or 1.7 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, or 1.8 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processors, that came with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor, and with a backlit keyboard, two USB 2.0 ports, FaceTime camera, a standard of 2 GB of RAM (configurable up to 4 GB), Thunderbolt which shares function with Mini DisplayPort and Bluetooth was upgraded to v4.0. Maximum SSD flash memory storage options were increased up to 256 GB. Both 11" and 13" models had an analog audio output/headphone minijack (that also supports an iPhone/iPod touch headset with microphone), but only the 13" model had an integrated SDXC-capable SD Card slot. These models use a less expensive "Eagle Ridge" Thunderbolt controller that provides two Thunderbolt channels (2 × 10 Gbit/s bidirectional), compared to the MacBook Pro which uses a "Light Ridge" controller that provides four Thunderbolt channels (4 × 10 Gbit/s bidirectional). A USB ethernet adapter was immediately available upon release and a Thunderbolt-to-Firewire 800 adapter became available in mid-year 2012.
My laptop was so slow, it would have improved my life more being used as a door stop. I didn't want to give up on her though and buy a new one. I wanted to avoid the hell that is the Apple store and Marin Mac Tech was the first to appear in a search; it was one of those times when the universe aligns perfectly. I feel so lucky to have had Shiva work on my 2011 Macbook Pro! It's becoming increasingly rare to find someone passionate about the professional service they provide, this is not the case with Shiva, his thorough knowledge and passion for craft assured me that my computer was in very capable hands. After a hard drive replacement and service, my computer is running better and faster than ever! I am so happy. Thank you .Thank you. thank you. I will be referring my clients and everyone I know to Shiva and Marin Mac Tech.
When I tweeted — from my secret social-media account used to hide my identity as a reporter — for help about Spectre and Meltdown, Apple responded a short 10 minutes later. The company also included the correct information (update macOS on your Mac, and you're OK), along with a link to documentation on Apple's site that explained the situation in greater detail.

Unfortunately, on my first day of testing, I ran into a bug that nearly prevented me from arranging calls. At first, it just seemed like a mistake; on the page where you enter your name, email address and phone number, the last field didn't have the words "phone number," though all the others were properly labeled. Ignoring this, I filled in my information. But then, I got an error reading, "We're unable to schedule your call. Please try again or choose a different solution."

Still, to buy AppleCare+ after the fact you generally have to run a diagnostic test on the device in question, so Apple knows it’s in good working order. And no matter when you buy your AppleCare+ plan, the coverage starts from the day you bought your device. So you don’t get an “extra” two months of coverage if you wait two months to buy the plan.
At the launch of the MacBook Air in January 2008, Apple claimed it to be the thinnest laptop in the world. While this was true of laptops on sale at the time, the 2003 Sharp Actius MM10 Muramasas was thinner at some points than the Macbook Air, being 0.54 inches (14 mm) thick at its minimum. It, like the MacBook Air, was a tapered design, with a maximum height of 0.78 inches (19.8 mm) —slightly thicker than the MacBook Air — shown above as 0.76 inches (19.3 mm). The Sony Vaio X505, released in 2004, had a minimum thickness of 0.38 inches (10 mm) and a maximum of 0.8 inches (20.3 mm).
Nov 12 Launcher continually updating Hey all, Since last patch - my launcher has been continually wanting to update the game client. Updates fine, client plays fine. As soon as I exit, the 'PLAY' button switches to 'UPDATE'. Rinse, lather, repeat. I've reset all UI options I've scanned the game files I've rebooted It's really an annoyance at this stage, as it doesn't actually affect game play, other than causing a 45-60 delay in launching, since it has to download patch data, manifests, etc to determine that hey, it's already patched. More than anything, I just wanted to get some visibility to the problem, and if anyone has a workaround/fix I'm all ears.Pyanfir4 Nov 12

Nov 11 10-18 FPS When Fighting Raid Boss Can someone explain to me why am I able to get around 60 fps steadily out in the open world and dungeons, but in Uldir on boss fights my fps drastically drops down to 10-18 fps? BTW I'm playing on the lowest graphic settings in the system menu for Raids. If I'm able to play modern games on my bootcamp partition on Ultra settings and get a steady 60 fps if not more, then darn I should be able to play a game that's over 10 years old, or at least you would think.
