MacBook Air components are officially non-user-replaceable, though third-parties do sell upgrade kits for the SSDs. The flash memory and battery are enclosed within the casing, with RAM soldered onto the motherboard. The flash memory, difficult to access, has a 128 MB cache[40] and a mSATA connection (updated to a proprietary PCIe interface) to the motherboard.[41]

No! Well, AppleCare+ plans for iPhone and iPad purchased in the United States and Canada are only valid in the United States and Canada, but other Apple devices (Apple Watch, Mac, iPod, Apple TV, and Apple displays) provide global coverage. Service options do vary between countries, but any AppleCare service is always performed by authorized techs with genuine Apple parts.

Some users have complained of CPU lockup caused by overheating. Apple released a software update in early March 2008 to fix the problem with mixed results: the deactivation of one CPU core was corrected; however, the runaway kernel problem remained for some users.[22] The problem is aggravated by system-intensive tasks such as video playback or video chatting.[23]

The MacBook Air is a line of Macintosh subnotebook computers developed and manufactured by Apple Inc. It consists of a full-size keyboard, a machined aluminum case, and a thin light structure. The Air is available with a screen size of (measured diagonally) 13.3-inch (33.782 cm), with different specifications produced by Apple. Since 2010, all MacBook Air models have used solid-state drive storage and Intel Core i5 or i7 CPUs.[2] A MacBook Air with an 11.6-inch (29.46 cm) screen was made available in 2010.[3]
Nov 1 External GPU case for new versions of MBP Good evening US folks from Russia, with love! I run wow on the latest version of MBP available, yet I have to admit that I'm not any happy with a framerate while doing even 20man raids (30-man raids are a total disaster). I don't really want to buy a PC and prefer to stay with Apple stack, since WoW is the only game I play nowadays, so I want to do something about it. According to iStat Menus logs, my CPU usage of my i7-3820hq is never getting above 60% when I'm raiding, so the bottleneck should be my GPU (Radeon Pro 560). I do agree that running game on retina display is a bit too much for this adapter which could be barely considered as a gaming card, but also I'm happy with how smooth the picture is and don't really want to lower my resolution. So I decided to go with GPU case idea, and now I'm really lost, since it looks like there's no standard and many companies sell a lot of devices, some are compatible with Apple devices, and some aren't. So I have a two questions: 1) Will GTX1060-level GPU will be enough for smooth ~60+ FPS in raids (medium settins, projected textures on, shadows off) on 15-inch MBP display (2880 x 1800 resolution)? Or should I get 1070 instead? 2) What about built-in display support? I don't really want to keep another monitor around the house, so I'm not ready to consider options with no built-in display support, unless there's none of them. 3) Am I right that nVidia driver support on macOS is a bit 'hackey' and unofficial right now, and it's better for me to buy Radeon instead? 4) Most important, is there anyone on this forum who uses new (2016+) version of MBP with external GPU case and could just tell me which device to buy? This is the most interesting thing for me, since on web, I found a few videos of eGPU being used with 2013 version of MBP, but I never saw 2016 one. So anyway, looking for any option which is below $700-800 total (assuming I should buy both eGPU case + graphic card), hoping that there is any viable solution for me instead of buying PC which I don't really need for anything but raiding.Belthaar12 Nov 1

5d 10.14.1 & Spaces & WoW I mentioned in pervious post how 10.14 had major issues with WoW when playing in Fullscreen (Windowed) mode with spaces where if you didnt fully go into a space you were swapping to and back to WoW the game would go into a forever suspended state (spinning beach ball). This could be "fixed" by going fully into the space you were swapping to and going back to WoW which would cause it to resume. 10.14.1 makes this completely worse. Now if you swap to a new space from WoW partially or completely the game will suspend and not come out of it. Avoid this upgrade if you need to use spaces while playing WoW. (again this happens in Fullscreen (Windowed Mode)....it is not occuring in window mode) I dont know if this is a blizzard issue or apple issue but Ive mentioned this a few times now previously and lack of response here from blizzard seems to indicate they dont seem to see this as any of their concern so we are probably stuck with this for a long while. EDIT - After some playing around Ive managed to narrow this issue even further. It seems related somehow to the method of swapping spaces. If I have enabled in my mouse preferences under "More Gestures" to "Swipe between full-screen apps - Swipe left or right with two fingers" and use that method to swap from WoW to new spaces I experience the hang ups. If I disable that and use only the option below that which says: "Mission Cotrol - Double tap with two fingers" to bring up spaces I am not getting the suspended WoW behavior as with the other.Bermy25	5d

A few days ago I spoke to an Apple customer service rep about getting an adapter. I first went on line to see which one I needed, wasn't sure so I asked for professional help. After twenty minutes, after being on hold for about fifteen minutes, I spoke to someone who didn't seem to have a clue. She put me on hold and then got back on the line to tell me which adapter would work. I needed an adapter for my older printer, so one end had to fit into the back of my new Mac and the other fit the printer plug. The adapter arrived today and it was too small at the computer end. I called Apple back. To make a long story short, I spoke to five people - all of them useless. I was wondering if I was speaking Klingon because nobody seemed to understand that I needed the adapter to plug into the back of my computer and that the other end did fit my printer. They kept assuming that the printer end was the problem. I was passed on to a supervisor who was just as clueless. I was then passed on to someone who was to source the right sized adapter for me and she was the worst of the lot. I can't understand how a company that makes my computer has no idea which adapter I would need for it and after five people, finally one of them realizes that Apple doesn't make them. I got all my other adapters at The Source and they fit perfectly, unfortunately they no longer carry this product. The worst customer service ever and not once did anyone say to me to return this item because I was recommended the wrong size. Not once did anyone offer a refund. I sent the stupid thing back this evening with a note for them to 'stick it where the sun don't shine.' Go anywhere else if you need help with products for your Mac - Apple customer service reps don't have a clue.
My macbook pro took a little tumble. The screen is not cracked, nor are there vertical lines, blobs, or anything like that. There was a bright blue line just at the bottom of the screen, but it flickered back into place. However, there are veeeeery very light horizontal lines that run through the entire screen now. It's truely hardly noticable unless you're up close to the computer. Honestly, I could live with it, but my screen was so clear before, I'd love to get it back to that quality. I know it's very expensive to replace the screen, but maybe there is something else that can be done or another service I can request before I have to drop that kind of cash? Help?
Awesome, responsive service.  Could not be happier with how timely, knowledgeable and friendly Shiva was.  He showed up when promised, kept me appraised of what he was doing, and worked very efficiently.  We had our new system up and running in no time - including a large transfer of data from an old system.  I would recommend Shiva and this company without hesitation.

Oct 30 Discreet or Integrated GPU I have a late 2012 iMac with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB. WoW has worked great on this machine since I bought it in 2013 for $1030 with no tax (on a military post). Since BfA install/launch, it has slowed down considerably, and not just with the game. It has slowed down period. I thought about adding more RAM (I have 8GB), hearing that iMacs with integrated graphics share memory with the graphics. I looked into it and couldn't figure out how to tell if it had integrated graphics... the instructions I found specified to "look at the About This Mac settings." Well, all I see is the NVIDIA, but nothing indicating discreet or integrated... so after searching deeper, it "appears" that this is not integrated. Is this a proper assumption? Anyway, I really don't want to buy a new machine, but I may have to. I did find this on Craigslist, but I'm not sure if I want to bite. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/sys/d/apple-mac-pro-late-2013/6732953504.htmlRitchie4 Oct 30
Hi John, Thank you for your expertise and, more important, for your kindness because they make me, almost, look forward to my next computer problem. After the next problem comes, I'll be delighted to correspond again with you. I'm told that I excel at programing. But system administration has never been one of my talents. So it's great to have an expert to rely on when the computer decides to stump me. God bless, Bill

5d Curious why Mac over PC for WoW? I am new to gaming in WoW on a Mac as I finally got my 2012 Mac Book Pro 13" up and running. I also own three Asus RoG PC laptops. I am curious why the folks here prefer using a Mac over PC to play WoW? I assume it's because he/she enjoys the MacOS better than Windows 10? :) Just getting some new feedback as a new Mac gaming user.Jaianya24 5d
Apple is about to begin charging users outside of their warranty for online chat support using a new web payment system it recently developed. Sources familiar with the project say Apple is currently expecting to launch the new paid chat support, which will also let customers schedule repairs and replacements online, as early as next week. Here’s how it works:
