I simply can't say enough about Shiva and his staff at Marin Mac Tech. My main design computer (27" i7) had a hard drive meltdown... and although I back up all client files to my server, there was a ton of stuff on the i7 that hadn't been backed up. Shiva worked miracles and was able to recover most of the data, and got me up and running quickly with a new SSD drive installed with the latest OS X. I'm telling you, if you need a company that knows its $hit and can get the job done for a reasonable cost, Shiva and Marin Mac Tech is the place to go. When I tweeted — from my secret social-media account used to hide my identity as a reporter — for help about Spectre and Meltdown, Apple responded a short 10 minutes later. The company also included the correct information (update macOS on your Mac, and you're OK), along with a link to documentation on Apple's site that explained the situation in greater detail.
More than that, Travis took my list of "fix its" and walked through my small business info/tech from a management perspective.  He quickly, systematically optimized my systems, step-by-step -- and now my online scheduling, calendaring, contact management, backups, data storage are all simplified and running better.  Travis also suggested steps we can take in the future to get my technology running more simply and efficiently, too.  He offered his guidance with a light touch - kind & with a sense of humor, too.  

My laptop died awhile back and although I have a Mac desktop and an iPad Mini, the time arrived for me to get a laptop. This time around I chose to get an Apple MacBook to bring all my Apple products together. It's really how they're all connected and share information across devices leaving me not having to send a copy to my email so that I can then open on my iPhone, Apple watch, iPad, or whatever. Now, everything is all connected instantaneously. I'm thrilled I went for the MacBook Air!

To test Apple's live-chat support, I submitted a question about modifying Siri's voice. I received a wait-time estimate of 5 minutes, and after 7 minutes, I was speaking with a rep named Zann. First, Zann walked me through the steps of checking my system version and confirming my device, and then gave me the correct set of steps to find Siri's preferences.
