Testing conducted by Apple in May 2017 using preproduction 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-based 13-inch MacBook Air systems with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. The wireless web test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing 25 popular websites with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The iTunes movie playback test measures battery life by playing back HD 1080p content with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The standby test measures battery life by allowing a system, connected to a wireless network and signed in to an iCloud account, to enter standby mode with Safari and Mail applications launched and all system settings left at default. Battery life varies by use and configuration. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.
2 years ago I wrote a review regarding Marin Mac Tech.  I have continued to use them with total satisfaction ever since.  Recently I realized that most of my tech stuff was so old and out of date that some of it would no longer update.  I decided to bite the bullet and get a new iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro and a new 27 in. iMac.  I wanted them to all be in sync.  Over the past 2 years Shiva has become familiar with my tech use and needs so I called on him to guide me through making the best choices and to order any extras as far as storage and memory were concerned.  Once purchased from the Apple Store via Marin Mac Tech, he backed up everything from my old equipment to my new.  No easy task as I am a hoarder of photos and information as well as emails and don't like to lose anything.  Along the way he eliminated some bad malware that had crept into my old computers.  I must admit there was quite a bit of adjustment to be made on my part as a lot of stuff was new to me and I kept getting messages regarding things that needed to be done.  Shiva was on call, both in person and via remote access, to shepherd me through the transition period.  I could not have done it without him.  He is a definite wizard when it comes to all things tech.  He does not fool around, gets right to the problem and fixes it and helped me to understand what I need to do along the way.   All of the people I have dealt with at Marin Mac Tech the past 2 years have been a pleasure to deal with and when it comes to tech help, Shiva is the man!  We are lucky to have such a reliable outfit in Marin to call on for our tech support.
The first time you install Malwarebytes, you’re given a free 14-day trial of the premium edition, which includes preventative tools like real-time scanning and specific protection from ransomware. After two weeks, it automatically reverts to the basic free version that will detect and clean up malware infections only when you run a scan. It is important to note that Malwarebytes will run alongside antivirus software without conflicts.
“We had talked about this technology in the past but, frankly, we were skeptical of its fit at CSG. Mac-Tech was competent and prompt with response times, qualities that meshed well with our own core business values. The high part accuracies we achieved with the Ermak press brakes also demonstrated to us Ermaksan’s ability to design and construct a precision machine frame with tier one components.”
For Macs, AppleCare+ makes more sense if you’re buying a laptop and you’re worried about the screen, or you just tend to be rough on your computers. Desktop Macs probably aren’t as important to cover, since the likelihood of, say, dropping one is a lot less. Still, Macs have a long life, so you may decide three years of (transferable) protection is worth the extra cost.

Included with each enrollment are two Technical Support Incidents, which will expire at the end of your membership year. You will receive two new TSIs when you renew your membership. Additional TSIs are available for purchase in either a 2-pack for $99 USD or 5-Pack for $249 USD in the Code-level Support section in your account. TSIs purchased separately expire one year from the date of activation.

The 11" MacBook Air carried the desirable essential attributes of a netbook, but without the drawbacks of a slower processor and less capable operating system,[52] albeit at a higher price.[53][54][55][56][57] At the low end, Apple introduced the iPad—a different form factor than the netbook, but with improved computing capabilities and lower production cost. Both of these led to a decline in netbook sales, and most PC manufacturers have consequently discontinued their netbook lines in response.[58] Capitalizing on the success of the MacBook Air,[59] Intel promoted Ultrabook as a new high-mobility standard, which has been hailed by some analysts as succeeding where netbooks failed.[60][61][62]
Called them and left a message on a Thursday about a month ago.  I also emailed the same day using their website form, indicating the specific issues I was having (model, OS, RAM, etc.).  The next day I got a return call from their admin saying only that someone would come to my house and it would cost $140 ($150?) for an hour.  Told her I had emailed with the specifics, and I asked to speak with a technical person for a few minutes first, to get their view on my issues, whether they could solve it, and if so, how long it might take.  She assured me I would be contacted.  I received no reply to my email and no call.
Nov 5 Camera Control with Mac Trackpad On my old MacBook Air that I just retired because it can't do Metal, I could swivel the camera viewpoint around by scrolling three fingers on the trackpad. So I could "fly" around and view my toon from all sides, look up to the sky or behind me. Using 2 fingers controlled zoom (in and out). On my brand new MacBook Pro, the 2-finger thing still works to zoom in and out, but I can't seem to find whatever setting will let me swivel around to take in the whole landscape. Note that if I PRESS with 2 fingers, I can AIM my character. This works somewhat as long as they aren't flying or in motion. On a flight path it doesn't hurt anything. But I can't swing around to see them from the front as they turn to wherever I point. How do I get my 3-finger scroll back so I can view the wide world in 360 degrees?Drozil1 Nov 5
Apple is about to begin charging users outside of their warranty for online chat support using a new web payment system it recently developed. Sources familiar with the project say Apple is currently expecting to launch the new paid chat support, which will also let customers schedule repairs and replacements online, as early as next week. Here’s how it works:
