Oct 30 Discreet or Integrated GPU I have a late 2012 iMac with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB. WoW has worked great on this machine since I bought it in 2013 for $1030 with no tax (on a military post). Since BfA install/launch, it has slowed down considerably, and not just with the game. It has slowed down period. I thought about adding more RAM (I have 8GB), hearing that iMacs with integrated graphics share memory with the graphics. I looked into it and couldn't figure out how to tell if it had integrated graphics... the instructions I found specified to "look at the About This Mac settings." Well, all I see is the NVIDIA, but nothing indicating discreet or integrated... so after searching deeper, it "appears" that this is not integrated. Is this a proper assumption? Anyway, I really don't want to buy a new machine, but I may have to. I had occasion to use customer support this week after my family gifted me with an IPad. I had difficulty with accessing after setting it up. I didn't catch the gentleman's name but I found his explanations way too fast and his tone arrogant, despite my telling him I was a senior and needed patience. I sat through a lengthy discourse on the difference between a password and a postcode, and I remained locked out. I think his telling me to hang up, sit back, relax and meditate and the password would come to me was his giving up. I give the service a zero. Once I can figure out how to reset the thing it will be going back.
My macbook pro took a little tumble. The screen is not cracked, nor are there vertical lines, blobs, or anything like that. There was a bright blue line just at the bottom of the screen, but it flickered back into place. However, there are veeeeery very light horizontal lines that run through the entire screen now. It's truely hardly noticable unless you're up close to the computer. Honestly, I could live with it, but my screen was so clear before, I'd love to get it back to that quality. I know it's very expensive to replace the screen, but maybe there is something else that can be done or another service I can request before I have to drop that kind of cash? Help?

For others, Apple will charge what it refers to as a “pay per incident” fee or require the purchase of an extended warranty through AppleCare. Previously all online support chat features were available for free to users worldwide. Some users might have noticed back in August when Apple revamped its support sites that it started listing a $19.99 per incident fee for chat support. However, up until now AppleCare hasn’t actually been charging users to access the feature.
