Much like Apple handles support calls over the phone, soon only customers within their warranty period will be able to access online chat support through getsupport.apple.com for free. For others, Apple will charge what it refers to as a “pay per incident” fee or require the purchase of an extended warranty through AppleCare. Previously all online support chat features were available for free to users worldwide. Some users might have noticed back in August when Apple revamped its support sites that it started listing a $19.99 per incident fee for chat support. However, up until now AppleCare hasn’t actually been charging users to access the feature.
I have had my eyes on a Macbook for the longest time now but that pricing at Best Buy (no different than the Apple Store) was just too much for a 13" & on top of that, there's the tax! I hadn't even thought about buying it online but it hit me one day to look on Amazon and I am SO glad that I did. The pricing for the exact same product here in store (and without tax!) is CHEAPER. I saved SO much money buying this Macbook here on Amazon and I do NOT regret this purchase one bit! I DID think about it a lot and read every last review and looked at all the product pictures (which were all good) and I'm glad to say that I also got a BRAND NEW PACKAGED BY APPLE MACBOOK AIR 13.3 INCH LAPTOP! It was sealed shut in the original Apple packaging brand new! Everything is running smoothly, no problems whatsoever (though I am VERY nervous of leaving a scratch or something on it so I bought a rubberized case & carrying case to keep it safe & looking new!)
If the Messages app is not an option, Apple’s support site has detailed instructions for setting up the Mac for sharing in System Preferences and using alternative screen-sharing methods or iCloud’s Back to My Mac feature (until Back to My Mac is discontinued in the next version of the operating system). If you are remotely trying to configure settings on someone else’s Mac and you both have iOS devices, Apple’s FaceTime video chat app can be helpful for visual cues walking someone through setup steps; Microsoft Skype users can also share screens for visual reference.
If you are the one providing the technical assistance, open Messages, select the name of the person you plan to help — or send a new message to start the conversation — and click the Details button in the upper-right corner of the window. Click the Screen Share icon, which looks like two overlapping rectangles, and select “Ask to share screen.” (If you’re the one needing the help, you can also reach out via a Messages buddy and use the “Invite to Share My Screen” option.)
For my second call, I asked about Siri. I opted for waiting music of my choice at 3:03 p.m. and was on the phone with John in New Mexico at 3:05. John, a friendly and to-the-point representative, pulled up the relevant article and walked me through the steps by 3:07 p.m.. He even emailed me a link to the related support page so I could have those steps handy in the future.

As a former AppeCare representative I can't stress enough how difficult this job really is. We have to deal with angry customers who waited too long on the line, give accurate information about endless features and provide an instant resolution. It is mentally exhausting and would take anyone I know into the paths of a breakdown. Now imagine when new products or software are launched. We are given a set of trainning modules to perform on a given amount of time, as per Apple recommendation. Now, what a lot of people are unaware of, is that only a few call centers are actually managed by Apple directly. Other centers are paid by Apple to train people as per their standards, but in the end of the day this is a business we are talking about, so the larger the amount of calls taken daily equals more monney for these centers. Basically, forget the trainning, we are just pushed by our local managers to do these modules as fast as possible because we are needed to take more calls. There is never time to breathe or learn anything.
Nov 1 Wow Freezing Hello everyone, I was just in a battleground and as soon as I got into a fight WoW freezed and I had to force quit it. When I joined back in, the game freezed again as soon as I got into a fight. This happened for other 2 times more. I am playing from the new Macbook pro 2018, High Sierra and I've never experienced anything like this up until today. Do any of you know what's going on?Eathiel0	Nov 1

6d USB Wireless Mouse sporadically unresponsive I have a Macbook Pro 15 inch (2007) running OS 10.14 with the following specs: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB ram Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB I have a TrippLite USB hub to connect my peripherals (currently just my Verbatim Wireless Mouse and an External Monitor via VGA) since this macbook only has thunderbolt ports. However, when I am playing WoW my mouse will randomly become unresponsive. It doesn't seem to be anything in particular that causes it and the length of time the mouse is unresponsive varies. I have been trying to see if this issue occurs without running WoW, but I can't replicate it. I'm not sure what the issue could be. At first I chalked it up to a crappy mouse (the scroll wheel doesn't work, and Verbatim doesn't support Mac for their mice.... weirdos) but it doesn't have any issues outside of WoW. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated - thank you! Apple's phone-based tech support provided accurate answers in a speedy process, though I encountered an odd bug during my testing. Apple's phone support number (1-800-275-2273) isn't highly visible on the company's site, so most people will find themselves navigating to http://support.apple.com, and then clicking through a short series of prompts and filling in contact information to arrange a phone call.
