Nov 4 Classic demo won't launch (solved) I'm having trouble launching the Blizzcon demo client. I've tried multiple reinstalls of the game and also reinstalling the entire Battle.net client, however it seems to stick on "World of Warcraft is performing initial setup of required game files". Is there something I'm missing? Mojave 10.14.1, iMac 18,3Incaely11 Nov 4
Don't rely on it being preserved. Many repairs require Apple to replace or reformat the hard disk, which will result in the loss of your data. Please make sure you back up your data on a regular basis to minimize your data loss. Apple and its AASPs are not responsible for any damage to or loss of any applications, data, or other information stored on your MacBook Air while performing service.

Some users have complained of CPU lockup caused by overheating. Apple released a software update in early March 2008 to fix the problem with mixed results: the deactivation of one CPU core was corrected; however, the runaway kernel problem remained for some users.[22] The problem is aggravated by system-intensive tasks such as video playback or video chatting.[23]
Oct 30 Discreet or Integrated GPU I have a late 2012 iMac with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB. WoW has worked great on this machine since I bought it in 2013 for $1030 with no tax (on a military post). Since BfA install/launch, it has slowed down considerably, and not just with the game. It has slowed down period. I thought about adding more RAM (I have 8GB), hearing that iMacs with integrated graphics share memory with the graphics. I looked into it and couldn't figure out how to tell if it had integrated graphics... the instructions I found specified to "look at the About This Mac settings." Well, all I see is the NVIDIA, but nothing indicating discreet or integrated... so after searching deeper, it "appears" that this is not integrated. Is this a proper assumption? Anyway, I really don't want to buy a new machine, but I may have to. I did find this on Craigslist, but I'm not sure if I want to bite. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/sys/d/apple-mac-pro-late-2013/6732953504.htmlRitchie4 Oct 30
The person on the other end of the sharing request needs to accept your offer. A box pops up to ask that person to let you observe or take command of the screen. Once the person chooses “Control my screen” and clicks Accept, you should be able to take over that Mac with your own cursor and keyboard to provide remote technical support; the app also opens up an audio call between you and the other person so you can talk while you help. When you are finished, the recipient can close the session.

To gain optical drive features, users could either purchase an external USB SuperDrive or other brand, or the bundled Remote Disc software, only for browsing or software installation to access the drive of another computer wirelessly[45] that has the program installed.[46][47] It can also be used to reinstall the system software from the included installation DVD. Remote Disc supports NetBooting, so the Air can boot from its installation DVD in another computer's drive, which requires Remote Install Mac OS X to be running on that computer. The software does not allow playback or information of DVDs, CDs or installing Windows.[45] For these features, an external USB drive is required.[45] More recent versions of OS X replaced the installation DVD with a USB flash drive containing the software, eliminating remote installation.
My laptop died awhile back and although I have a Mac desktop and an iPad Mini, the time arrived for me to get a laptop. This time around I chose to get an Apple MacBook to bring all my Apple products together. It's really how they're all connected and share information across devices leaving me not having to send a copy to my email so that I can then open on my iPhone, Apple watch, iPad, or whatever. Now, everything is all connected instantaneously. I'm thrilled I went for the MacBook Air!
AppleCare is transferable! If you’re selling an Apple product before the included AppleCare plan expires, the buyer gets the remaining protection. If you buy an extended AppleCare+ plan and then sell the product, the remaining time left in the AppleCare+ goes along with it. So AppleCare+ can be a selling point when you’re unloading your used devices on the secondary market!

More than that, Travis took my list of "fix its" and walked through my small business info/tech from a management perspective.  He quickly, systematically optimized my systems, step-by-step -- and now my online scheduling, calendaring, contact management, backups, data storage are all simplified and running better.  Travis also suggested steps we can take in the future to get my technology running more simply and efficiently, too.  He offered his guidance with a light touch - kind & with a sense of humor, too.

I have been experiencing terrible customer service waiting over 45 plus minutes on hold for assistance on the top of apple taking money from my credit card on file without any purchase being made. While Apple make nice products their customer service assistant is one of the worse I have ever deal with in my life and makes me change my mind about their products. They need serious improvement on their customer service assistances when customers call their number. Terrible experience and very frustrating.
