If your browser is constantly being redirected to sites that display errors or alerts, asking you to call a tech support number to fix it, then it is possible that you have adware program installed on your computer. Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers use scare tactics to trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services that supposedly fix contrived device, platform, or software problems.

The only time Apple Support didn't have the answer at the ready was when I called to ask about autoplaying video. The call was set up at 9:28 a.m., and I was on the line immediately with Tonya in Idaho. After we joked over our equally poor weather, she attempted to connect to my system remotely but could not do so (likely because of our office firewall).

Nov 7 PTR Wont launch. So for the last week when ptr was down, I've been able to launch the ptr client and check. But after the recent build update, the game simply won't launch, either through the desktop client or through opening the game itself from the install folders. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and now I don't have the same ability to open through the folders as before, it seems the ptr client just didn't download when I reinstalled? I've scanned for repairs and it says that its fine, the game is up to date, but it just won't open. Any thoughts to what might be doing this?Yuleí1 Nov 7

Nov 5 Camera Control with Mac Trackpad On my old MacBook Air that I just retired because it can't do Metal, I could swivel the camera viewpoint around by scrolling three fingers on the trackpad. So I could "fly" around and view my toon from all sides, look up to the sky or behind me. Using 2 fingers controlled zoom (in and out). On my brand new MacBook Pro, the 2-finger thing still works to zoom in and out, but I can't seem to find whatever setting will let me swivel around to take in the whole landscape. Note that if I PRESS with 2 fingers, I can AIM my character. This works somewhat as long as they aren't flying or in motion. On a flight path it doesn't hurt anything. But I can't swing around to see them from the front as they turn to wherever I point. How do I get my 3-finger scroll back so I can view the wide world in 360 degrees?Drozil1 Nov 5
Thanks for the article. However, if by "power of positivity" you mean condescending attitude, providing cookie cutter replies to one's questions for the sole purpose of diverting the issues, and overall being insincere and shifting the responsibility of the problem onto the consumer, well, yes, Apple is at the top of the list. The so called "Genius Bar" is useless and its geniusless techs feign ignorance of problems which are listed in the millions on a basic online search. As others have already pointed out, I have been a faithful Apple customer for many years, but the lack of "customer service" (ie: "resolving problems") leads me to say Apple no more.
The person on the other end of the sharing request needs to accept your offer. A box pops up to ask that person to let you observe or take command of the screen. Once the person chooses “Control my screen” and clicks Accept, you should be able to take over that Mac with your own cursor and keyboard to provide remote technical support; the app also opens up an audio call between you and the other person so you can talk while you help. When you are finished, the recipient can close the session.

Before rolling out the paid chat support, Apple had to develop a new web payment system that would allow it to accept payments through chat and keep user info secure when transferred between support agents, according to our sources. Using the new web payment system, we’re told Apple plans to offer the ability to set up hardware repairs and replacements that require a hold on a credit card or pay per incident fee via chat support. Rather than having to call in, users will be sent a link that’s live for 24 hours in order to complete the payment.
